One of my son’s favorite shows is Daniel Tiger and there’s a song that goes: “Sometimes you feel two feelings at the same time, and that’s okay!” I’ll tell you what, it’s on repeat inside my head these days :)
With the Pisces New Moon ( March 2 at 9:38am PT), we begin a new lunar cycle infused with an energy for seeing, feeling, holding and integrating all the things in a more grace-filled way. Consider pausing at the moment of the moon's turning to try this embodied breath and awareness practice:
Begin by closing your eyes and breathing in through the nose, out through the mouth. Place one hand on your heart center and one hand on your belly. Turn your attention to the area around your heart, feeling the breath, feeling the movement under your hand, feeling the energy in your body. Take three breaths - in through the nose, out through the mouth.
Turn your attention to the area around your belly, feeling the breath, feeling the movement under your hand, feeling the energy in your body. Take another three breaths - in through the nose, out through the mouth.
Go back to your heart for two breaths, then to your belly for two breaths. Go back and forth between heart and belly, one breath cycle at each area. After a few minutes, rest your arms by your side. How do you feel?
