Go Deep and Deeper Still

When we go into the dark time of the year, our consciousness shifts and we have the opportunity to explore and heal our hidden wounds and shadows - all the times that “make or break” us. Or is it break and make us?
Astrologically, we are approaching a Libra New Moon and Venus retrograde. Listen to Divine Harmony speak of the retrograde cycle.
Here’s my take on it: Libra is the sign of the scales - judgement and justice, harmony and truth - embodied by the Egyptian goddess, Ma’at. Venus in retrograde is the Queen of Heaven descending DEEP into the Underworld. In this journey, she is Inanna, she is the Black Madonna, she is Lilith, she is the Dark Goddess who loves us with fierce compassion. She pulls us into ourselves and calls us to dig deep and deeper still.
Spirit is saying: The silenced ones of our past are rising with loud voices and they will be heard. Justice will be served. No one can hide. Lady Justice will have her say. Ma’at’s feather is on the scale opposite your heart, my heart, the collective heart. She gazes into us and we are seen.
Clearly. Humbly. Truly. Fiercely.
This is a time for radical self honesty. I speak for myself and perhaps offer a seed or two of value to you…
What do you do behind closed doors when you think nobody is watching? What do you think in the darkest recesses of your mind - about yourself and others? Are you able to forgive yourself for that most shameful disgraceful thing? Can you bless thrice the ones you’ve cursed?
If you can’t, if you can only point your finger, then how can you expect anything more from anyone else? How can I? How can we?
I pray that there is a true possibility of healing and transformation, as well as a willingness to forgive - to forgive ourselves and to accept sincere apologies from others.
This is not about condoning behaviors...rather, it’s about giving each other a chance to speak truth, and in so doing, possibly heal and forgive.
I am seeing clearly where I need to make reparations. I am doing the work with humility, and at a pace that honors the slower parts of me that resist and hold back out of pride or fear. Do you know what I mean?
So to prepare, I’ve been doing a forgiveness prayer every day for all the times I’ve done harm knowingly and unknowingly in this lifetime, past and future. It helps. But it also dredges up the past. All of it...in an ancient and timely way.
It’s a badass practice. Intense. Yet simple. So, if this calls to you, listen for when you naturally need to take a break for a day, a week or more. Begin with compassion and end with blessing.
Maybe you’ll join me? We aren’t going to save the world in a day, but we are on The Journey...
“The Journey” by Mary Oliver
One day you finally knew
what you had to do, and began,
though the voices around you
kept shouting
their bad advice--
though the whole house
began to tremble
and you felt the old tug
at your ankles.
"Mend my life!"
each voice cried.
But you didn't stop.
You knew what you had to do,
though the wind pried
with its stiff fingers
at the very foundations,
though their melancholy
was terrible.
It was already late
enough, and a wild night,
and the road full of fallen
branches and stones.
But little by little,
as you left their voices behind,
the stars began to burn
through the sheets of clouds,
and there was a new voice
which you slowly
recognized as your own,
that kept you company
as you strode deeper and deeper
into the world,
determined to do
the only thing you could do--
determined to save
the only life you could save
Go deep and deeper still,
With Love,
Jennifer
