(inspired by Imbolc 2017)
”Ask honest, open questions to hear each other into speech." (Parker Palmer, writer speaker activist)
The Aquarius New Moon of last week ushered us further into a portal of transformation. We are now in the season of Imbolc - a time of Birth and renewal. As we move through Imbolc, we are reminded that even in the heart of winter are seeds of hope and new life.
Though it may be easy to fall into delusion and despair, there is hope even here (my eyes are often filled with tears these days, yet my lips are still able to smile up to my eyes). It is through the cracks of our broken hearts that the power of life held so tightly in these seeds emerges.
Hope, carried on winds of breath, planted in fertile fields and circles of trust, is how we will not only survive, but Thrive. Together.
So, be of courageous heart and have hope. Pick up your head and look around you with a soft, receptive gaze. See beyond myopic conclusions based on old patterns of isolation, control, manipulation, fear and despair. And begin.
Mary Oliver, describes this journey of Truth so well:
“But little by little, as you left their voices behind, the stars began to burn through the sheets of clouds, and there was a new voice which you slowly recognized as your own, that kept you company as you strode deeper and deeper into the world, determined to do the only thing you could do — determined to save the only life you could save.”
There is a way through, so begin (and continue), head uplifted, eyes open, one foot in front of the other, trusting that the path will unfold under your feet. Commit yourself to this path, aligning outer reality with inner truth. You will not be alone. You are never alone.
We are in this together, each walking our own soul’s path in service of a higher, wider vision for the world. Step up and into a sacred partnership with yourself and the world. See where you can be of service and serve. This energy of exchange inspires each one of us to grow beyond our small perception of self, igniting lights of fierce compassion, cultivating sacred ground for healing connection and seeds of hope.
What seeds do you hold in your heart? What dreams will you dare to dream into this world? Speak to these, and with a compassionate heart, create the space to hear each other into speech.
Blessed be,
Jennifer Marie Lane
